Claife Heights Walk

Walk distance: 5.8 miles
Time: 3 hours (approx.)

This is gentle walk that starts from the village of Far Sawrey and takes you over land originally owned by Beatrix Potter, through woods that overlook Lake Windermere and Bowness on the other side.

Finding your way around this walk is straight forward. Any difficulties you may encounter are identified on the map. For me the best part was walking by Moss Eccles and Wise Een Tarns.

Using this blog.

This blog is a collection of walks I have done. I will not be giving detailed routes, but will identify some key parts of the walks where there may be difficulties.
As you can see, some of the routes are given on Google Maps. They are best seen with the 'Satellite' view. With this and an Ordnance Survey map, you will be able to map out the walk. For each walk I will provide details of the map and the grid reference of the starting point.
There are several waymarks on the map that will describe a location, the next stage of the walk and any difficulties you might encounter.

More recently I have started to use OS maps from OS Getamap. It is much more appropriate for walkers and will allow maps to be printed (subscribers will be able to print larger maps). For GPS users the routes can also be downloaded.
