Canon Hall Walk

OS Map Reference 110 (Landranger Series) or 288 & 278 (Explorer Series)

Walk distance: 4.5 miles

Time: 2 hours (approx.)

This is a straight forward walk and can be used as part of a day out at Canon Hall. The placemarks on the google map will give you the directions. Unfortunately I only managed to take a couple of photographs.

After you walk by the Hall on a track and turned left to reach the road. As you walk along the road, you will see this very interesting building.

When we emerged from Deffer Woods, the walk goes along the road until you reach High Hoyland. As we walked along the road, we were greeted with showers and this wonderful rainbow.

Using this blog.

This blog is a collection of walks I have done. I will not be giving detailed routes, but will identify some key parts of the walks where there may be difficulties.
As you can see, some of the routes are given on Google Maps. They are best seen with the 'Satellite' view. With this and an Ordnance Survey map, you will be able to map out the walk. For each walk I will provide details of the map and the grid reference of the starting point.
There are several waymarks on the map that will describe a location, the next stage of the walk and any difficulties you might encounter.

More recently I have started to use OS maps from OS Getamap. It is much more appropriate for walkers and will allow maps to be printed (subscribers will be able to print larger maps). For GPS users the routes can also be downloaded.
